Warm loaf with cheesy layers, fresh herbs, and buttery garlic. Ideal for sharing or delightful solo snacking.
# Components:
→ Bread
01 - 1 large round sourdough loaf (approximately 18 ounces)
→ Garlic Herb Butter
02 - 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
04 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped or 1 teaspoon dried basil
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
→ Cheese
09 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
10 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
11 - 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
# Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Using a sharp bread knife, slice the sourdough loaf in a criss-cross pattern, making deep cuts without cutting through the base so the loaf remains intact.
03 - In a mixing bowl, blend the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives, basil, salt, and black pepper until thoroughly combined.
04 - Gently separate the bread cuts and distribute the garlic herb butter evenly throughout the loaf using a butter knife or spoon.
05 - Fill the crevices of the bread with mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan, ensuring all cheese is distributed for consistent melt and flavor.
06 - Position the loaf on the prepared baking tray and loosely cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
07 - Remove the foil and continue baking for 8–10 minutes until the cheeses have melted and turned golden, and the bread edges are crisp.
08 - Present immediately, allowing guests to pull apart the loaf for sharing.
