# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The beef practically melts on your tongue without any effort on your part—just set it and forget it.
  • That tangy, buttery, savory liquid becomes an incredible sauce that makes even plain rolls taste restaurant-worthy.
02 -
  • Do not skip the pepperoncini juice—water alone won't give you that essential tangy backbone that makes this dish taste like it's been braised in something special.
  • If your slow cooker runs hot, check the beef around the 7-hour mark because some models can turn tender roast into shredded nothing in what feels like minutes.
03 -
  • If you want more tang and spice, don't be shy about adding extra pepperoncini peppers or a splash of hot sauce after shredding—you can always add more but you can't take it back.
  • Trim any visible large fat deposits from the roast before cooking, but leave some marbling in the meat itself because that's where the flavor and tenderness come from.
