10 - 1 cup thick Greek yogurt (for snouts and ears)
11 - 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (for ears)
12 - 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips or candy eyes (for eyes and noses)
13 - 1 banana, sliced (for ears and snouts)
→ Accompaniments
14 - 1 cup fresh blueberries
15 - 1 cup strawberries, halved
16 - 1/2 cup maple syrup
17 - 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
18 - 1/2 cup whipped cream
19 - 1/2 cup toasted coconut flakes (optional)
# Directions:
01 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
02 - In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until uniform.
03 - Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined; avoid overmixing for tender pancakes.
04 - Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.
05 - For each polar bear, pour approximately 1/3 cup batter for the large face pancake and two smaller pancakes of one tablespoon batter each for ears. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, flip, then cook until golden. Repeat with remaining batter.
06 - Place the large pancake as the face on a serving board and attach the two smaller pancakes as ears atop it.
07 - Use Greek yogurt and banana slices to craft snouts and inner ears on each pancake stack.
08 - Position chocolate chips or candy eyes for the eyes and noses; use mini marshmallows or banana slices for the outer ears.
09 - Fill the board with fresh blueberries, strawberries, maple syrup, chocolate hazelnut spread, whipped cream, and optional toasted coconut flakes.
10 - Serve immediately, allowing guests to assemble or further decorate their own pancakes as desired.
